Position Overview
This position will work closely with Power System Network Modeling and Applications. Under the guidance from supervision, the candidate will perform analysis and provide recommendations to address minor technical issues as they relate to Real-Time reliability operation and control of an electric utility as well as implementation and deployment of the replacement or enhancement of a Real-Time Power System Network Modeling and Applications. The candidate will also closely work with the business clients to understand their requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, deploying and maintaining real-time Power System Network Modeling and Applications associated with transmission and distribution operations or additional new functionality with minimum supervision.
The candidate will provide support on minor technical issues associated with Real-Time Advanced Applications Tools (e.g. Power System Network Modeling, State Estimator, and Contingency/Security Analysis and Real-Time Study environment) and/or custom power system applications.
The candidate will maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices in addition to providing support with all other duties
Minimum Qualifications
Graduated within the past 24 months with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or related technical discipline or will obtain degree by December, 2018
0-3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Power System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent.
Experience in Energy Management System, Substation Automation, Distribution Automation, etc.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) License in Electrical Engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of Energy Management System advanced applications (State Estimation and Contingency Analysis), GE Positive Sequence Load Flow.
Knowledge and applied experience in the implementation of Electrical Power System Model and Advanced Applications.
Knowledge of C programing, SQL, Linux and various scripting language.
Demonstrated experience developing and presenting technical and business information in formal and informal settings.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to both technical and non-technical personnel, including internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to influence others and maintain positive working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts in manner which results in win-win solutions for all the parties involved.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with clients, peers and all levels of management.
Must demonstrate strong ethics and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and engage in continuous learning.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
