Senior Wafer Fab Process Engineer

EMCORE Corporation has an immediate for full-time Senior Wafer Fab Process Engineer in its Alhambra, CA wafer fab facility, reporting to the Director, Wafer Fab Manufacturing
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for leading the development and defining the maintenance of wafer fabrication processing for semiconductor lasers and photo-diodes.
Responsible for leading the development of unit process blocks and working with the process and design teams on NPI.
Take technical ownership of wafer process area and related process development activities; working closely with device design engineers to realize new device structures into the wafer fab process.
Develop a roadmap to evolve and improve the wafer processes for low cost, high performance semiconductor lasers and photo detectors.
Develop process/product yield improvement plans in close cooperation with device design engineers, coordinate FMEA activity and support failure analysis.
Specify capital equipment and drive cost of ownership & OEE models in area, coordinated with process capability and product roadmaps.
Organize all phases of process design reviews, manufacturing process instructions, acceptance test procedure and release to production as defined by EMCORE Development Procedure.
RequirementsMINIMUM EDUCATION:
Minimum BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Electronic Engineering, or related field in optoelectronics.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 years experience in volume Manufacturing Operations, within Semiconductor and related industries.
Strong capability in problem solving.
Demonstrated leadership and project management ability.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrated accomplishment in the following:
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the process engineering disciplines -
Photolithography
Etch (Wet/Dry)
Metallization, including PVD, Evaporation & Plating
Diffusion (inc..ampoule) and PECVD
Electrical & Optical testing
Familiarity with engineering tools ?
FMEA
DFx (DFSS, DFC, DFQ)
sPC
