24 an hour 1 hour ago 1 hour ago 1 hour ago Under direction of the Supervisor, Information and Training, will perform complex office support in which the employee is responsible for a variety of clerical and some administrative functions necessary to run and maintain both the I & T Unit and the entire Community Services Department efficiently.
Establish and maintain efficient control of official Regional Center records and documents with a high degree of accuracy.
Assist and/or independently carry out a variety of fact finding and event coordination tasks in preparation of material for agency trainings, meetings, and events.
Compose correspondence and/or informational flyers, emails, etc.
from brief instructions.
Provide information to callers and route callers to appropriate staff and/or agencies.
High use of computer for word processing, email, database management programs, and some possible use of desktop publishing software.
Potential use of internet for research and data gathering for projects and/or publications.
Maintenance of new staff training calendar and training databases.
Aid in coordination of all Community Services Department activities.
Conduct orientation and training of secretarial replacement employees.
Responsible for directing maintenance, repair, supplies, mail, files, and inventory of state equipment.
Additional duties assigned as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
At least three years progressively responsible office experience required.
Accurate typing of at least 55 WPM.
Good spelling, punctuation, grammar, and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills required.
Detail oriented and creative.
Possess good written and oral skills in English.
Good interpersonal skills.
Adaptable, versatile, and creative.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Possess initiative and problem solving attitude.
Ability to acquire knowledge of terminology and procedures related to Community Services Department.
Experience on PC with word processing, email, database management programs.
Experience on PC with publishing software very desirable.
Ability to relate well to all levels of management and support personnel.
Some experience with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus.
Bilingual Spanish or Cantonese/Mandarin/Vietnamese preferred.
